Gentle Yoga and Guided Relaxation

60 Minutes

Guided Relaxation (also known as Yoga Nidra) is a systematic method of guided relaxation that has a profound effect on the body, mind and emotions. During the practice, you are guided through various stages of deeper relaxation, allowing the mind to become more relaxed and more receptive.

The practice can help release physical tension, reduce mental and emotional stress, increase creativity, aid in memory retention, help us to have a better night sleep, and have better overall wellbeing.

During the class, you will start off with 15-20 minutes of gentle yoga, to allow your body to prepare for the relaxation: loosen stiff muscles from sitting at a desk all day! Then you will come to lay down on your mat and be guided through the systematic guided relaxation. All you have to do is listen to the guided meditation and find yourself relaxing and maybe even falling asleep.

Guided Relaxation is a wonderful practice that anyone can do. It leaves the student feeling rested, relaxed, less stressed and many students have reported having a great nights sleep after practice!

Restorative Yoga

60 Minutes

Deeply relax with as your body is completely supported in longer held yoga poses

Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation as you holding poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you.

The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative yoga classes are very relaxing and slow paced. Props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. You will then hold the pose for an extended period of time. This practice is great to balance an active yoga schedule or to give yourself a break when you feel under the weather.

Yin Yoga

60 -75 Minutes

Yin yoga is a slow-paced, passive type of yoga that incorporates long holds and deep breaths for a stretch that gets right into the muscle fibers. Designed to prepare the body for comfort in seated meditation, Yin yoga is the perfect complement to more vigorous Yang-based practices like Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Power Yoga.

Yin yoga involves a series of seated and supine postures, typically held for 3-5 minutes at a time. During these prolonged periods of stillness, the yogi experiences a surrendering sensory awakening that melts away residual tension and stress. Long Yin yoga holds are also known to release repressed or stored emotions, leaving the yogi feeling lighter, clearer and completely relaxed.

Yin yoga is an excellent practice for beginners. It gives them plenty of time to uncover the unique benefits of individual poses without worrying about tricky transitions. It’s also a tried and true technique for yogis of all levels to experience full body release. Those recovering from an injury or looking to lengthen versus strengthen will feel right at home in a Yin yoga class.

Yin Yoga & Chill

90 Minutes

Take a moment to chill. This hybrid class combines Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga and the results are blissful!

In this class you will relax into longer holds, anywhere from 5-15 minutes, enabling deep relaxation. A wonderful practice to help you relax from a long work day or stressful week.

This practice is great to balance an active yoga schedule or to give yourself a break when you feel under the weather.

Our parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated when we relax into poses, which promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in our bodies. The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for slowing your heart rate and breath and increasing blood flow to your vital organs, among other things.

Suggested props: blanket, pillows, blocks, straps and maybe your favorite essential oils/diffuser.
